Unfortunately for many photographers and retouchers, the dependency on Wacom tablets to perform our jobs may mean having to hold off a little bit longer until we can safely upgrade. Hi everyone, I could not find the answer to my issue anywhere else so I am now trying here.

Once released the update will appear in the Wacom Desktop Center and posted on the Wacom driver page found here.
Wacom intuos 3 driver mac high sierra 10.13.6 upgrade#
To continue to use your tablet uninterrupted, Wacom suggests not to upgrade to 10.13 until the new driver is released. Due to nature of the changes in High Sierra, the existing Wacom driver for 10.12 will not work. The new Wacom driver will be ready by late October at the latest. Wacom is currently working on a new driver update to support the new operating system. The tweet links to Wacom’s support page which gives the following statement:Īpple has announced 10.13 High Sierra will be released September 25th. More here /gq2BhXElGj- Wacom ?️ September 25, 2017
Wacom intuos 3 driver mac high sierra 10.13.6 Patch#
As far as I followed the discussion for the gtk patch it seems that some features are MacOS Version dependent. We will release a Driver update late October for 10.13 High Sierra. I did the build in the macports environment where I only build gtk from source. At least the history of mac-setup folder indicates that and are building the MacOS bundle. It is mentioned that the MacOS bundle release is build with a patched gtk version. It is however a bit laggy as described in #2302. It works on MacOS 10.13.6 with a Wacom Tablet. I have build the latest version of gtk in branch gtk-3-24 with the master branch of xournalpp and then the pen is detected. So they should be included in gtk 3.24.23. The patches landed in the gtk-3-24 branch in May 2020. This has been addressed by and Ignacio in gtk. The problem that the input pen is not detected is a problem of the underlying gtk quartz system. The pen sensitivity is not working as already desribed in #569. I also see the problem of the not detected wacom pen in xournalpp release 1.0.19 with a Wacom Tablet with MacOS 10.13.6. But we might get help by more devs till then. And then we have not even started on developing any OS-specific apps and with the current size of our team this will mot likely not be possible at all. It will take a few more month to get anywhere with this library. But and this but is unfortunately quite big. We currently work on separating our core logic into a system independent library which will then allow us to write OS-specific apps. Your best bet is heading over to the bug tracker of GTK and file a report there.īut we do have some good news for the long run. We don't really work on Macs and do not have the hardware necessary to test it nor the funds to buy it. One fix would be to fix GTK but that is somewhat out of scope for us and currently not managable with our team. However, if you want to keep your Wacom tablet working, it’s better not to upgrade just yet. They know best what could create this issue.įor the macOS people in this thread your problem ist most likely that GTK does not recognize your device correctly. Apple has announced 10.13 High Sierra will be released September 25th. MacOS 10.13 High Sierra is officially released and available for download from September 25, 2017. I'd recommend filing a bug with the people from Fedora.

Seems like it does not have the permissions to list these devices. Mac High Sierra 10.13.6 Manual Wacoms Intuos graphics tablet helps get you started drawing, painting, or photo editing on your Mac. I suspect this might be a configuration issue with Fedora, but I don't have the slightest clue as to what config I should even look at.
When run as a normal user, this only lists a single device with the name "Core Pointer". Testing further, I tried to run gdk_display_list_devices (gdk_display_get_default()) (which seems to be deprecated now) and when run as root, this lists all devices as expected.
It seems to me that when run as a normal user, the call to gdk_seat_get_slaves does not find any devices at all (not even mouse or touchpad), whereas when its run as root, it does find my touchpad for example (and also the graphic tablet). I tried to narrow down the problem by debugging DeviceListHelper.cpp (Disclaimer: I have never done anything with Gtk at all). I did find a workaround though: running the application as root works. Using the latest Intuos 3 driver, 6.3.15-3. Edited: Finally got pen working, but pressure not recognised in Photoshop. I am assuming that my Intuos 3 is now a lump of plastic.

(I can however also confirm that the exact same setup works on Ubuntu 20.04) Tried a bunch of drivers and while the diagnostics all say everything is working fine including pressure, but no clicks register at all. The AppImage release and compiled from source.
